Responsibility
Three Questions to Ask Yourself:
1. Do your employees have new responsibilities that they didn't have before?
2. Have your employees received a new kind of job with different responsibilities?
3. Has your company increased the employee's tasks recently?
If you answered
NO
to two of the questions above, your employee could be demotivated for having more responsibility that they think they are worth.
Recommendations:
If your employee has a new job with different responsibilities, it is time to consider a promotion to make them feel of value to the company.
AUTONOMY
Give your employee autonomy to get the work done.
SELF EFFORT
More responsibility requires more self effort.
FLEXIBILITY
Maybe they need more of a flexible schedule to fit their personal needs.
FEEDBACK
Provide them with feedback about how they are doing with their work.
AVAILABILITY
Be helpful and available to answer their questions and explain each new task.
RECOGNITION
Show that you recognize they are doing more than they used to.
COMMUNICATE
Explain the reasons that their responsibilities increased, and show them the importance and impact of their job in the organization.
